Counselling with Carys Walker

When life feels heavy, tangled, or hard to make sense of - you don’t have to do it alone.

I’m Carys, a down-to-earth psychotherapeutic counsellor supporting adults navigating anxiety, low self-worth, and the impact of relational trauma.

MSc-qualified • BACP registered

A smiling therapist with blonde hair and a septum piercing, wearing a gray plaid blazer and jeans, sitting indoors in front of a green wall in a therapy room with a lamp and decorative plants.

If you’re here, there’s a good chance something feels heavy, tangled, or harder than it used to be. Maybe your thoughts won’t switch off. Maybe your confidence has taken a knock. Or maybe you’ve been carrying the impact of past or recent relationships and aren’t quite sure how to make sense of it alone.

Trying to choose a therapist from words on a screen can feel really hard - especially when what you’re really looking for is a sense of safety, understanding, and whether you might feel at ease with the person behind the page. This space is my attempt to offer a little of that.

I’m Carys, a warm, down-to-earth psychotherapeutic counsellor. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, low self-worth, and the impact of relational trauma - including difficult childhood experiences, abuse, and infidelity. More than anything, I offer a human, collaborative space where you don’t have to have everything figured out to begin.

Not sure where to start?

That’s okay.

A cozy therapy room with green walls, two gray armchairs with wooden frames for counselling sessions, a small wooden side table with a lamp, a fluffy beige rug, large window with blinds, potted plants, and a round wall mirror.

In therapy with me, all parts are welcome - the “I don’t know”s, the “life feels sh*t”s, and everything in between. If you’re curious about how I work and the culture I try to create in the therapy room, you can read more about what therapy with me is actually like here.

  • My in-person sessions are based out of my dedicated counselling room at Frederick House, Nantwich (Cheshire CW5) within driving distance of local towns of Crewe, Sandbach, Alsager, Winsford and Middlewich.

The room is a few minutes outside the centre of town and there is ample free parking. I also offer online sessions to folks across the UK via Google Meet or Doxy.

You can choose which way of meeting works best for you - and even swap and change between the two.

  • Sessions are charged at £50 per 50 minute session.

  • Get in touch! I’m most responsive via email, so reach out via the website form or email me directly at carys@outofthewoodscounselling.co.uk. I always respond to every enquiry so if you don’t here from me within 24 hours, please check your spam.

From there, we can arrange a free 15-20 minute introductory phone call. This gives us both an opportunity to get a sense of whether we may be a good fit, for me to share a little information about how I work, and for you to share as much (or as little!) information as you would like to about what has brought you to counselling.

Choosing the right counsellor for you is a big decision, and so I never ask anyone to make a decision on the phone. If, after a chance to mull it over, you feel you’d like to move forward then we can look at booking in our first session.
