Counselling & therapy tailored to you

Not currently accepting new clients.

Gentle note to say that I am currently at capacity and unable to accept new clients. My waitlist is also at capacity and I am therefore unable to add new folks to it at present. This website, alongside my social media and directory page, will be updated as and when this changes.

Therapy with Carys

A psychotherapeutic counsellor with blonde hair, smiling softly, resting her chin on her hand, sitting in a therapy room with a green wall, a lamp, and decorative dried plants in the background.

Therapy with me isn’t about being analysed, fixed, or told how to live your life. It’s a space to slow things down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and feel less alone with it.

I offer integrative counselling, grounded in person-centred therapy - meaning you’re the expert on your own life. Alongside this, I draw on narrative therapy, existential thinking, and solution-focused approaches, depending on what feels most helpful for you.

If none of that is making much sense to yet, that’s okay - in practice, what that means is we might explore your past, untangle what’s happening right now, or gently look toward what you want more of - always at your pace.

My way of working

Therapy with me is collaborative, human, and real. Not all tears and tissues - though they’re exceedingly welcome - but also moments of reflection, relief, and the occasional laugh or swear. You don’t need to perform insight or arrive with everything neatly packaged. You’re invited to bring your whole self: the messy bits, the unsure bits, and the parts that aren’t convinced therapy will help.

There’s no dress code, no ā€œrightā€ way to sit or speak, and no pressure to show up as anything other than you are. Our work is shaped by the relationship we build together. You’ll be met with empathy, honesty, and care - and, when it feels supportive, a gentle challenge to help loosen what’s keeping you stuck.

I often work with people who are:

  • Living with anxiety, burnout, panic, or constant overthinking

  • Struggling with low self-worth or a relentless inner critic

  • Impacted by relational trauma, abuse, or difficult early experiences

  • Navigating the aftermath of infidelity or relationship rupture

Together, we’ll make sense of your story - past, present, and future - and work toward reconnecting you with more choice, steadiness, and self-trust. You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin.
